WHAT IS THE LOCATION AND VENUE LIKE?

We searched across Canada for the perfect venue—a place that could offer an immersive experience where participants could stay on-site for the duration. Accommodations. Food. Campfires. And creativity. It turns out, this ideal location was right in (my) backyard on beautiful Prince Edward Island.

We found a literal summer camp—and we’ve rented it for four days.

Acres upon acres of creative backdrops: forests, lanes, fields, and incredible indoor spaces. And the best part? It’s located right on the Atlantic Ocean, offering a pristine oceanfront playground with some of the most stunning coastline and dramatic low tides of Prince Edward Island’s south shore.

That’s right. The camp is right on the ocean... and it’s all ours.

DO I NEED TO STAY ON SITE?

For the most immersive experience, you can choose to stay on-site. A number of shared cabins are available, and we’ve hired a caterer to provide meals throughout the event. You won’t need to worry about renting hotels, cottages, or cabins—or driving once you get here. Your only focus will be on learning and creating.

However, we understand that many people may want to turn their trip to PEI into a family vacation, travel with non-photography partners, or prefer more comfortable accommodations (the cabins are basic/rustic—we want to be upfront about that). So, you’re welcome to stay off-site if you prefer.

WHAT DOES “THE CABINS ARE PRETTY RUSTIC” MEAN?

Staying on-site won’t be for everyone, and we get that. Do not choose the accommodation option unless you’re prepared to stay in a summer camp environment. This is not the Hilton—it’s not even your typical Prince Edward Island rental cottage. These are very basic cabins. Think a single bed and a power outlet.

But rest assured, they will be clean. We’re providing brand-new bedding for everyone. The cabins normally sleep 8-12 people, but we’re limiting it to 4 people per cabin (unless you request otherwise as part of a group) for added comfort.

There will not be bathrooms or showers in the cabins. Instead, you’ll have access to shared (but private) bathroom and shower facilities. It’s similar to a campground setup, where you walk a short distance to a common building to use the facilities.

If you sign up for on-site accommodation, you’ll be paired with others of the same sex. However, we can accommodate requests to be grouped with friends or people you’re signing up with.

To BEST enjoy this experience:

  • Come with an open mind and a sense of adventure.

  • Expect the cabins to be rustic, but know that the real fun of this experience is outside the cabins. We’ll be learning and creating non-stop during the event.

  • Bring whatever you need to make your stay more comfortable.

Ultimately, if you think “summer camp cabin life” is not for you, there are numerous nearby cottages and hotels available to rent, and we encourage you to choose what best suits your needs.
